Q. How do I get the caller ID on my phone to work?
A. For the caller ID function on a phone to work, you must subscribe to the service through your local phone company and the service must be activated in the phone system programming.
Q. How do I make an outside call?
A.Access a line and enter the phone number. You may leave the handset down to use the speaker option, or lift the handset for a private call. There are 2 ways to access a line. 1) Press 9, then enter the phone number OR 2) Touch a line button on your phone, then enter the phone number.
Q. How do I place a call on 'Park'?
A. To park a call, press PARK then enter the extension where you want the call parked. Release the call. To page, press PAGE or enter #30 (or specific page code) to announce the call.
Q. How do I pick up a call on 'Park'?
A. To pick up a call that has been parked, press PARK and enter the extension number where the call has been parked.If picking up the call from the extension where the call is parked, the PARK key will be red. Just press PARK and you’ll be connected to the call. No need to enter the extension number.
Q. How do I transfer a call directly to a user’s voicemail?
A.With the caller on the line, press CONF/TRN, enter #407, enter user’s mailbox number followed by #. Hang up. If you have a TRANSFER TO VOICEMAIL key, press it and enter the user’s mailbox number followed by # (or press their “buddy” button).
Q. How do I call forward the main phone line?
A. If you have Centrex Lines (dial 9), access a line and listen for dial tone. Enter 106 and the number to forward to.

If you have Business Lines (no dial 9), access a line and listen for dial tone. Enter 72# (or *72) and the number to forward to.

Q. How do I remove call forwarding from the main phone line?
A. If you have Centrex Lines (dial 9), access a line and listen for dial tone. Enter 107. You will hear a confirmation tone.

If you have Business Lines (no dial 9), access a line and listen for dial tone. Enter 73# (or *73). You will hear a confirmation tone.

Q. How do I call forward my extension?
A.Press ICM and enter #6011. You will hear confirmation tone. Enter 9 and the ten digit telephone number to forward to followed by #. You will hear confirmation tone.
Q. How do I remove call forwarding from my extension?
A. Press ICM and enter #6051. You will hear a confirmation tone.
Q. How do I program a blank key as a speed dial?
A.With the handset down, press ICM, enter #9876, press the blank key to be programmed, enter 9 and the ten digit telephone number, press the blank key again. Display should show DATA PROGRAMMED
Q. How do I program a blank key as a “buddy” button?
A. With the handset down, press ICM, enter #9876, press HOLD, press the blank key to be programmed, enter 610, enter the extension number, press the blank key again.
Q. How do I change the ring tone on my phone?
A. With the handset down, press ICM, enter #9876, press ICM again. Enter the two digit ring tone number. Press HOLD to switch between internal and external pitch. (tone numbers: 01, 02, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18)
Q. How do I block outbound caller id?
A. Access a line and listen for dial tone. Press *67 and wait for dial tone. Enter the telephone number you wish to call. Caller ID will be suppressed for that phone call.
Q. How do I transfer a call to an outside number?
A. You must have this feature activated on your phone line. With the caller on the line, press the switch hook (or Flash/Tap/Recall/Link key) and listen for dial tone. Enter third party’s number. When the third party answers, announce the call and hang up. The call is transferred. If you reach a busy signal, press the switch hook twice to cancel the transfer.
Q. How do I turn the message light off if I have listened to the new messages?
A.Press ICM, then “ # “, then “ 409 “ (leave the handset down). This should turn the light off.
Q. How do I change the time on my CIX?
  • Go to the Administrator Station (usually the lowest numbered station)
  • With the handset in the cradle, press ICM and enter # 652
  • Enter the time in 24hr format: HHMMSS
  • Press #
  • Press Speaker

Work related to the Time Change Process is covered under the Taylored Systems Maintenance Agreement and Taylored Complete Plus Program. If you are a Maintenance or Complete Plus customer, you will not be invoiced.
