ESI Telephone

A. For the caller ID function on a phone to work, you must subscribe to the service through your local phone company and the service must be activated in the phone system programming.
A. Access a line and enter the phone number. You may leave the handset down to use the speaker option, or lift the handset for a private call. There are 2 ways to access a line. 1) Press 9, then enter the phone number OR 2) Touch a line button on your phone, then enter the phone number.
A. With the caller on the line, press VOICEMAIL and then the programmed extension button. Hang up. If you don’t have a programmed extension button, press VOICEMAIL and then TRANSFER and enter the extension number. Hang up.
A. If you have Centrex Lines (dial 9), access a line and listen for dial tone. Enter 106 and the number to forward to.
If you have Business Lines (no dial 9), access a line and listen for dial tone. Enter 72# (or *72) and the number to forward to.
A. If you have Centrex Lines (dial 9), access a line and listen for dial tone. Enter 107. You will hear a confirmation tone.
If you have Business Lines (no dial 9), access a line and listen for dial tone. Enter 73# (or *73). You will hear a confirmation tone.

If you have Business Lines (no dial 9), access a line and listen for dial tone. Enter 73# (or *73). You will hear a confirmation tone.

A.Press CFWD and then enter the extension to forward to.
A.Press and hold down blank key until prompted to enter an extension or telephone number.
A.Press PROGRAM then press 4. Press 1 to change ring tone and follow the prompts.
A. Get dial tone. Enter *67 and then enter the telephone number you wish to call. Your Caller ID will be suppressed for that phone call.
A. You must have this feature activated on your phone line. With the caller on the line, press FLASH and listen for dial tone. Enter third party’s number. When the third party answers, announce the call and hang up. The call is transferred. If you reach a busy signal, press the switch hook twice to cancel the transfer.
  • Press PROGRAM
  • Press HOLD
  • Enter password (usually 12345) followed by #
  • Select option 1 (system function programming)
  • Select option 4 (program system clock and calendar)
  • Enter time (12 hour format 00:00)
  • Select AM or PM using scroll keys
  • Press # to confirm
  • Enter date(00/00/0000)
  • Press # to confirm.

ESI Telephone Instructions

Select a line and enter the ten digit telephone number.
Press the programmed extension button or enter the extension number using the keypad.
With the caller on the line, press the preprogrammed extension button, announce the call (optional), then hang up. (Or, press TRANSFER, enter the extension number of the person you want to transfer to, announce the call, then hang up). NOTE – To cancel the transfer and return to the original caller, press the line where the call is holding.
With the caller on the line, press VOICEMAIL, press programmed extension button and hang up. (Or press VOICEMAIL, TRANSFER, enter extension number and hang up).
Call first party. Press CONF (this puts first party on hold). Enter the extension number of the party you wish to add. When the party answers, press CONF again. If party is busy or not available, press FLASH to drop.
Call first party. Press CONF (this puts first party on hold). Press a line (or enter 9), then enter ten digit telephone number. When the party answers, press CONF again. If party is busy or not available, press FLASH to drop.
Pick up the handset and press pound (#) then zero (0). Make your announcement, press >RELEASE, then hang up.
Allows you to make a private background announcement to an extension that is in use. With the caller on the line, press the programmed extension button that is busy to activate call waiting. Then, press and hold the WHISPER PAGE button to speak. Only the person you are calling will hear you; the outside caller will not. The called party can respond by pressing FLASH, which places their outside call on hold.
Stores caller ID info for the last 25 calls. Press CALLER ID button; press scroll keys to view other missed calls. To dial the caller, press REDIAL. To view the phone no., press 2. To delete, press 7. To store in your Personal Dex, press ESI-DEX. (MUST HAVE CALLER ID).
To turn on, press PROGRAM, 3 and choose option 6 – Monitor Mode. While listening to a caller leave a message, you can: 1) lift the handset to intercept the call; 2) do nothing and let the system record their message to your mailbox or 3) press MUTE which temporarily mutes your speaker while the system continues to record the message to your mailbox. To turn off, press PROGRAM, 3 and choose option 6 again.
Select a blank button to program as a speed dial. Press and hold it down until you hear the prompt “this key is not programmed.” Enter 9 and the ten digit telephone number (9 + 1 for long distance numbers), then press and hold the blank button again until you hear the prompt “this key is programmed as a speed dial as shown.”

To call the number, press the button.

Press ESI-DEX, choose PER for your Personal dex. Press NEW. Using the keypad, enter the name (# after each letter), press # when finished, then enter 9 and the ten digit telephone number (9 + 1 for long distance numbers). Press # when finished. To delete a stored number, recall the name then press *.
Press the ESI-DEX button, choose PER for your Personal dex. Press the dial pad key corresponding to the first letter of the desired name. When the name appears, select DIAL to automatically dial the number.
Press CFWD and then press an extension button (or enter an extension number) to forward your calls to that extension. To cancel, press CFWD and RELEASE.
Press PROGRAM, press 4. Follow the prompts.

ESI Voicemail

A. First, try entering zero, which is a default password. If that doesn’t work, contact your system administrator to have your password reset. Or send an email to service@taylored.com.
A. You have what’s called a “guest” mailbox. To access it, from any phone press PROGRAM, * star, your mailbox number and password. To record a greeting, press PROGRAM, VOICEMAIL, *star, your mailbox number and password.
A. Call your direct number (if you have one); call the designated “backdoor” number or call the office main number. When you hear the automated attendant greeting, press * and enter your mailbox number. For example, enter *250.
From any phone:

  • Press PROGRAM
  • Press HOLD
  • Enter administrator password (usually 12345 followed by #)
  • (At this point, the first menu option that you should hear is: “For system function programming, press 1”. If you don’t hear this, then the password is wrong. Try password 456. If that still doesn’t work, call Taylored Systems 317-776-4003 so we can change the password to 12345).
  • Select option 6 (prompt recording)
  • Select option 1 (main greeting)
  • Enter ID number 540 followed by #
  • Press 1 to record
  • Press 1 when finished recording
  • After hearing playback, press 1 to re-record or # to confirm

Please keep in mind that you will need to put the system into HDAY mode for this greeting to play. There should be a NIGHT button on one of the phones (usually the receptionist) that allows you to change the system mode by pressing it.


ESI Voicemail

Press PROGRAM, press 1
You can record Greeting #1 as your “in office” greeting and Greeting #2 as your “out of office” greeting.
Press PROGRAM, press 5, then option 1
Press PROGRAM, press 5 then option 4
Press the VOICEMAIL button (and enter your password if prompted to).
Call your voicemail backdoor number, if one has been set up. Otherwise, call your office number. When you hear the greeting, press (*) and enter the mailbox number or, if someone answers, have them transfer you to voicemail by pressing VOICEMAIL and hanging up. At the greeting, enter (*) and the mailbox number.
Press VOICEMAIL and hang up. The user will enter (*) and their mailbox number.

Guest Mailbox Users (from any phone)

Press VOICEMAIL, (*), enter Mailbox Number and password
Press PROGRAM, VOICEMAIL, (*), enter mailbox number and password
