Christmas In July Golf Outing Fundraiser 2019

Sure, it’s still technically summer, but here at Taylored, we believe it’s never too early for some Christmas cheer — all in the spirit of holiday giving, that is!

Our team of IT elves had such a fun time at our “Christmas in July” golf outing last year that we decided to make it an annual tradition — just like Christmas! — so we could spread goodwill and help raise money for families in need during the upcoming holiday season.

’Twas a beautiful summer day — July 23, 2019 — with not a snowflake in sight when the Taylored IT elves gathered at the Edgewood Golf Club. Even though Indiana temperatures often soar into the high 80s and 90s this time of year, we didn’t let the heat stop us! Our guest of honor ditched his red velvet suit for his summertime Hawaiian shirt and holly-red shorts, as seen above.

Massage Envy joined the team to lead us through some stretches, making sure we were as fit and limber as a team of spritely reindeer. Eddie Merlot’s was out of mince pie and plum pudding, but we helped ourselves to enough of their delicious sliders to make our bellies shake like bowls full of jelly. When we counted off our team of golfers, we were as excited as kids on Christmas morning to learn we had seventy volunteers this year — almost double the number from last year’s forty!

Our golfer elves teed off to help raise money for families in need during the holidays, and the rest of us cheered them on, filling the field with good tidings of Christmas charity and spirit.

After the game was over, we all gathered together on the patio for dinner, drinks and cheerful conversation to celebrate such a festive day and worthy cause. Due to the generosity of our sponsors, players and all who participated in some way, we were able to raise over $5,000 for families in need this holiday season.

We’d like to say a very merry thank you to our Santa’s helpers (volunteers) this year, because they are the reason we’ve been able to make dreams come true for families in need. Thank you to Dawn, Bonnie, Sherry, and Steve M. for helping out during registration and dinner. A very special thank you goes out to Dawn for working so hard on all the wonderful door prizes, and to Kyle Bloom and his staff at Edgewood Golf Club and Bloomers Pub for hosting our golf outing and dinner!

We had not just one Santa, but thirty-one, in the form of donors who contributed door prizes for winning teams and awards for the longest drive and closest to the pin. We’d like to say a very merry thank you to them all:

Christmas In July Golf Outing Fundraiser 2018

The Taylored first annual “Christmas In July” Golf Outing Fundraiser on July 24, 2018 was a huge success, thanks to numerous participants and sponsors. This fundraiser helps provide a Merry Christmas to the less fortunate–so we owe a big “golf clap” to those who participated.

Due to everyone’s help and generosity, we have raised over $5000.00 so far, and we are still receiving checks for this great cause. All proceeds will provide holiday meals and gifts for families in need when the Christmas season rolls around. After all, Christmas is always closer than you think!

We started with a little warm-up before the tee-off. Then all the teams gathered before the start, we made a few announcements, and the golfing began.

Congratulations to the winning team made up of Dan Pierle, Amy Hart-Ramey, James Whittington, and Gavin Hancock.  (below)

The second place team was Jeff Stouse, Aaron Galbreath, and Keith Arnett.

Closest to the pin was Ken Minnard from Isonas.

The longest drive for men was Chris Conner from Wesco/CSC.

The longest drive for women was Cara Bennett from Graybar.

Some of our other teams included Team CSU.

Jeremy Ferris, Trey Womack, Korby Kemp, and Matt Haynie (below)

Team Pan-Gen with Chris Blakeley and Nathan Wampner.

We had a great time for a great cause and look forward to next year’s event. So begins the holiday countdown!
