Toshiba TELEPHONE INSTRUCTIONS

TO PLACE AN OUTBOUND CALL - Access a line depending on your current configuration (select a line, select a line plus 9, if you have Centrex, or just 9 if you have a PRI).  To switch to speaker, press the SPKR button and place handset in cradle.

TO PLACE AN INTERCOM CALL-Enter the extension or press their preprogrammed extension button.

TO TALK ON SPEAKER PHONE - Press SPKR button and place handset in the cradle.

TO TRANSFER A CALL TO ANOTHER EXTENSION - With the caller on the line, press CNF/TRN, then enter the extension number. After announcing the call, hang up to complete the transfer. NOTE - To return to the original caller, press the CONF/TRN button again before releasing the call.

TO TRANSFER A CALL TO AN EXTERNAL NUMBER (only with Centrex or PRI)- If you have a PRI, with the caller on the line, press CNF/TRN, then enter 9 + the number.  If using Centrex, then you will need to press FLASH and then enter 9+ the number.  When call is answered, hang up to complete the transfer. To make it a conference call, press CNF/TRN again instead of hanging up.

TO CREATE A CONFERENCE CALL - With the caller on the line, press CNF/TRN then enter the extension. After they answer (handset must be up), press the CONF/TRN button again to join all three parties together.  If you receive a busy or no answer, press CNF/TRN again to return to the original caller. (If you are using a PRI for dial tone, you may also conference external numbers, not only internal numbers)

TO PAGE-Lift the handset and press PAGE; then make your announcement. Press the receiver button to disconnect, then hang up the handset.  You can also access Paging by pressing #30.

DO NOT DISTURB – Press this button to activate; your phone will not ring or receive pages. All incoming calls will go directly to voice mail. Press again to deactivate.


SPEED DIAL Personal Speed Dial Codes 100-119


TO PROGRAM PERSONAL SPEED DIAL CODES – From your phone, with the handset down, press ICM, enter # 9876, press the SPDIAL button, enter the code (100-119), enter 9 + the phone number, press SPDIAL button again. Display shows "DATA PROGRAMMED."
Repeat steps to program additional numbers. (To program pauses, press * followed by 1-9 which represents how many seconds to pause).

TO CALL A SPEED DIAL CODE – Select a line, press SPDIAL and enter the speed dial code (100-119).

TO PROGRAM PERSONAL SPEED DIAL BUTTONS - With the handset down, press ICM, enter # 9876, press the button to be programmed, enter 9 + the phone number, press the button again. Display shows "DATA PROGRAMMED." Repeat steps to program additional buttons.

TO PROGRAM AN EXTENSION BUTTON – With the handset down, press ICM, enter #9876, press HOLD, press the button to be programmed, enter 610, enter the extension number and press the programmed button again.

TO PROGRAM A BUTTON FOR VOICE MAIL TRANSFER – With the handset down, press ICM, enter #9876, press the button to be programmed, press CNF/TRN, enter #407, press the button again.

TO TRANSFER A CALL DIRECTLY TO VOICE MAIL - With the caller on the line, press VM TRANSFER. During the greeting, enter the person's extension number (or VM mailbox number) followed by #. Hang up.

VOICE MAIL – Press to access your voice mailbox.

TO PARK A CALL – With the caller on the line, press PARK, then enter your extension number and hang up.

TO RETRIEVE A PARKED CALL – From your own phone, press PARK. From another phone, press PARK and enter your extension number.

FEATURE BUTTONS

MSG - Voicemail Indicator Light

MIC-Microphone - Mutes speaker; red indicates when microphone is ON

SPKR - Speaker - Indicates when you are using your speaker

SPDIAL - Speed Dial

REDIAL- Last number redial

CNF/TRN –Conference/Transfer - Used to transfer callers to an internal extension and to initiate conference calls

VOLUME - Used to adjust the speaker volume, the handset volume, the ringing volume and the contrast of the display. Adjusts the volume for whatever action the phone is doing (ringing, talking, etc.). Hold the button down, don’t tap it.

HOLD - Puts a call on hold. After __ minutes, phone will beep as a reminder that call is still on hold. Pressing HOLD once is a regular hold: you can pick the call up from any phone. Pressing HOLD twice is an exclusive hold: the call can only be retrieved from the phone that put it on hold.

SOFTKEY BUTTONS (display models only)
Soft Keys are used as an alternative to dialing access codes or using feature buttons. Abbreviated feature names will appear above the keys during a call. Some examples are: TRN, CNF, JOIN, RTRN, DEL, SAVE

SCROLL - Advances through information
